All shot on a budget of about \u00a33.50.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/verityholloway.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/hieronymus-bosch2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-1175\" title=\"Hieronymus Bosch\" src=\"http:\/\/verityholloway.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/hieronymus-bosch2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"288\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If nothing else, watch the sacrifice scene at 43:06. Nathaniel Parker looking like a moustachioed Edwardian angel as the cigar-puffing masses watch from a safe distance, rouged and smiling,\u00a0is one of the darkest, most gorgeous few minutes of film I&#8217;ve ever seen. Nathaniel&#8217;s trusting little smile &#8211; oh, God.<\/p>\n<p>* I use <em>Caravaggio<\/em> as a method of gauging character. If you can sit through\u00a0it\u00a0happily, you&#8217;re an alright sort.
