The short version\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Art, history, folklore, and bad medicine. I wrote Pseudotooth<\/em>,\u00a0Beauty Secrets of The Martyrs,<\/em> and The Mighty Healer<\/em>. I have Marfan syndrome, but my symmetry is still fearful.<\/p>\n

And the long\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Born in Gibraltar in 1986, I grew up following my Navy family around the world. Always on the move, dealing with the effects of my connective tissue disorder, Marfan syndrome, I found friendly territory in fantasy, history, and Fortean oddities.<\/p>\n

In 2007, I graduated from Cambridge\u2019s Anglia Ruskin University with a First Class BA in Literature and Creative Writing. I went on to earn a Distinction Masters in Literature with special focus on Dante Gabriel Rossetti\u2019s The House of Life.<\/i><\/p>\n

My short stories and poems have been variously published and anthologised. My story Cremating Imelda<\/i> was nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and The Forlorn Hope<\/em> was long listed for the British Science Fiction Association Awards.\u00a0<\/i>My \u2018delightfully weird\u2019 novella, Beauty Secrets of The Martyrs<\/i>, was released in 2015, and in October 2016 Pen & Sword<\/a>\u00a0published my first non-fiction book, The Mighty Healer: Thomas Holloway\u2019s Patent Medicine Empire<\/i>, a biography of my Victorian cousin who made his fortune with questionable remedies. Unsung Stories<\/a>\u00a0published my novel Pseudotooth<\/i> in March 2017, and Titan<\/a> published The Others of Edenwell<\/em> in 2023. In the same year, Black Panel Press<\/a> published Gore<\/em>, a historical graphic novel written by me and illustrated by Ivo DeJager.<\/p>\n

Currently, I write folklore and history features for Hellebore<\/em> zine. I also edit CloisterFox, a new zine of British speculative fiction. My first collection of short stories, Cheer The Sick<\/em><\/a>, will be published by Black Shuck Books in October 2024.<\/p>\n
